Deep Retrofit Accelerator

Driving sustainable change through deep retrofits across Atlantic Canada

About

The Deep Retrofit Accelerator is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of deep retrofits across Atlantic Canada, focusing on commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential buildings, as well as housing in Indigenous communities. This multi-partner program, led by the ReCover Initiative, will involve publishing a strategic roadmap for the deep retrofit industry, providing services and support to property owners and developers, and building industry capacity. Learn more about ReCover’s work here.

As part of the program, HCi3 is working to increase understanding and access to financing options for building owners and managers to advance deep retrofits.  This will include:

  • identifying gaps and opportunities for financing in Atlantic Canada

  • developing tools and training to increase knowledge of funding pathways

  • strengthening relationships with potential financing partners.

This program is made possible through generous funding from Natural Resources Canada, the Echo Foundation, McConnell Foundation and Trottier Family Foundation.

Retrofit Financing Survey Open

We are looking for input from building owners and building professionals on building retrofit financing knowledge and training needs. This information will inform future training, resource development and networking opportunities.

As a thank you, you will have the option to enter a draw for a $100 grocery store gift card and a $50 donation to a local food bank in your name. The survey will be open until March 21, 2025.

Deep Retrofit Financing and Funding Survey

Deep Retrofit Financing Workshop

HCi3 is hosting a half-day workshop on deep retrofit financing at the BuildGreen Atlantic Conference in Halifax on April 28.

This workshop will provide insights into various financing strategies and how to build a business case for building retrofits, as well as providing peer-to-peer learning opportunities with other building owners, building professionals and funders.
